I'm equally excited about the incredible team of Captains leading our volunteer troops this year. I cannot tell you how lucky we are to have them.  If you haven't already heard from your Captain yet he or she will be contacting you ASAP to provide basic assignment instructions as well as logistics (parking, directions, etc.) If you have signed up for several assignments (bless you!) you may be contacted by a few different Team Captains. Please let me know if you aren't contacted within the next couple of days and I'll be happy to help you get the information you need to be successful on race day.
We have a lot of great groups joining us this year as Ironman Foundation Grant Recipients. These are not for profit groups within our community that will be providing volunteer services in exchange for a monetary donation! The Ironman Foundation has committed to giving thousands of dollars back to our community by way of these recipients.  Please welcome:

1. During CHANCE's third meeting, Mrs. Rosemary Smith's room, senior Karishma Gupta brought cookies to welcome new members to the club. They ended up only being able to give each member half of a cookie because there were more people than they had expected. Over thirty students showed up. 2. CHANCE members listen to news about which organizations they are going to raise money for and figure out which fundraising ideas they should use. 3. President Ashley Martinez and Co-Vice President Rebecca Ubalde talk to the club members about t-shirt ideas and volunteer opportunities. They helped out teachers around the school on October 26 and volunteered at different elementary schools' harvest festivals. 4. Juniors Eleanor Marrs and Ashley Martinez talk about how they are going to pass out boxes at every meeting for donations to help raise money for all the organizations, domestic and international, they plan on helping.

Dear C.H.A.N.C.E.,
On behalf of everyone at Three Square and all of our program partners, we thank you for supporting us through a food drive. Your kind generosity goes beyond meeting an important basic need for food - you've given struggling individuals throughout our community the intangible gift of hope. We truly appreciate your donations and thank you for your continued support!

Sincerely, Mel

*The following email was addressed to all Green Valley High School clubs that donated food baskets and/or stockings to Green Valley High School's Title I Homeless students and their families.

A huge thank you to all of the individuals, club, classes and organizations who donated food baskets and Christmas stockings to GVHS's Title I Homeless students!

Thanks to your generosity, we provided food baskets to seven families and almost 40 stockings to our students and their families. Judging from the expressions on their faces and words of gratitude, you truly made a big difference in this holiday season for these families!!!
